Windows and Flags

Once again reaching back into the archives. Here are a couple of photos taken with my old Nikon D60 – my first digital camera.

The first photo below is from 2012. An image from Savannah. Itt was a cloudy day and the windows were in shade. I had to hold the sky back some and lightened the building facade. The exif data says that the lens was at 55mm (about 90mm equivalent for full frame) and f/5.6 at 1/125s and 140 ISO.

The next one is a year younger. This is from Buckhead, of course. That’s the place made from glass – or so it seems. With a similar cloudy day, it is all monochrome except for the flag. The camera settings were lens at 55mm, f/8 at 1/60s and 100 ISO.

A crop from this photo (also at the top):

Sometimes, when I don’t have anything better to do, I take some random old photo and start photoodling. In case you are not familiar with that, “photoodling” is doodling using a photo and various manipulation tools and techniques. Nothing serious, just fun. I realized the photo I was recently using was from an old photo outing to Buckhead and suitable for this challenge. The word “buckhead” means “nothing but windows” in English, I could be wrong about that. So I went back and dug up the original. Yep, nothing but windows:

Well, the photooodle started with a crop so it would indeed be nothing but windows.

Here is the manipulated image:

What I shared elsewhere was this:

Here is another photo from that outing. You can see why I like to take my camera there.

Coincidence?

Last Tuesday I was reviewing the posts from fellow Monday Window bloggers when I came across the delightful shop windows in the post by Teresa. It had only been half an hour before when I received an email from my OneDrive. No, I am not completely crazy, I do get messages from OneDrive. Here is the proof:

There is a bit of a story behind this. Some time back I noticed that when my iPhone backs up the photos to the internet it does so at reduced resolution. So I enabled OneDrive to copy the pictures. It does it at full resolution. What’s more, it sends me reminders of days gone by.

So here is that photo from a local mall from five years ago.

And a closer look at that busy shop window.

Windows Behind Trees – 6

This may be a bit of a leap. I have a collection of images for this mini-theme and they got all mixed up and I am confused as which I already used and which I had set aside for future posts. If this is a duplicate let me know.

This photo is a vertical stitch of two. That is the reason it is close to being square. And, yes, it is obvious that there are windows behind the trees. Not exactly in keeping with the mini-theme, but it gets this posted and out of the way. Now — back to sorting out my photos …

Aaarrghhh

Sorry about the delay in publishing. When I checked this morning, as I do every Monday, the previous post came up. So I rushed to the dashboard. It showed this post as scheduled, but not yet published. The date was set to November 30, not November 1. My bad.
