A couple of days ago Facebook showed me an old photo of mine, as it does every few days. It was of the Norcross Garden Club, a charming little house. The window seemed rather prominent, and I wondered if I had shared this photo in Monday Window. I had not. I downloaded the photo from Facebook. It now had a long random character file name. All the EXIF data had been stripped. There was not even the original create date. Fortunately the post date helped me get back to the photo in my archive. Otherwise, photos in Facebook are rather useless.

Since I tried the “glimpses” idea over at Cafe Ludwig, I decided to do a little of that with one of the photos.

Each week I promise myself to get my “Monday Window” photos organized. Then there are more important things to get done and the organizing just doesn’t come to pass.

I have several folders with older photos to reach back to if I don’t have anything current. That has been my source most weeks recently. I look in the folders for images that I have not already shared. The ones here seem to fall into that category. If you have seen them before, let me know when and I will reward you handsomely (be modest in your expectations).

This is a delightful storefront in the charming downtown of Norcross, Georgia. With the reflections there is a confusion of shapes and colors. Enjoy!

Last week we visited a cafe in beautiful downtown Norcross, Georgia. Some eight years ago, while I was there in the neighborhood, I decided to photograph the city hall. It is an imposing little building. It sits tightly in its surroundings, there are utility lines and other infrastructure that make it difficult to get a clean photo.

My goto scheme then, as it is now, is to step a little closer and take a bunch of overlapping photos, up and down, left and right, and use Microsoft ICE – Image Composite Editor – to stitch them together into a presentable image.

There are different ways of controlling the rendering. I will spare you and show just two.
